Romans Road to Salvation Series Part 2

There is none righteous, no, not one

Romans 3:10 NKJV

This statement came directly from a King David’s Psalm

…There is none who does good, No, not one.

Psalm 14:3 NKJV

This is a reminder to all of us that no one, not one person is good and righteous. Even though we may think ourselves to be good people, relatively speaking. Sadly, we cannot use our own judgment on matters concerning absolute morality. And yes, there are absolutes within this postmodern world where it is believed to have no absolutes!

While in the Garden of Eden, Adam and Eve chose to not follow God’s will and command.

Then the Lord God took the man and put him in the garden of Eden to tend and keep it. And the Lord God commanded the man, saying, “Of every tree of the garden you may freely eat; but of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil you shall not eat, for in the day that you eat of it you shall surely die.”

Genesis 2:15-17 NKJV

With a Creator of pure righteousness how could one think that you can do all the things that your little heart desires and not get into any trouble? Our parents, together, are our first representation of God that we would ever see in our lives. They are to embody righteousness, instill within each of us a sense of morality and ethics, and teach us how to be and live with others in this broken world. Some of us had very good parents, others had bad parents, some had single parents with either an absentee mother or father, and others had no parents where they ended up in foster care or an orphanage. However, in God’s eye we are all on equal footing. We start with nothing and have everything at our disposal to learn of our heavenly Father and His Son, Jesus. We are not alone. Our Creator loves each and every one of us, His creation…He does not necessary love what we do, but He loves us, each and every one of us.

Now the serpent was more cunning than any beast of the field which the Lord God had made. And he said to the woman, “Has God indeed said, ‘You shall not eat of every tree of the garden’?” And the woman said to the serpent, “We may eat the fruit of the trees of the garden; but of the fruit of the tree which is in the midst of the garden, God has said, ‘You shall not eat it, nor shall you touch it, lest you die.’ ” Then the serpent said to the woman, “You will not surely die.”

Genesis 3:1-4 NKJV

Now, it was easy for Eve to be fooled by Satan, because she did not witness all the miracles of God. So, it would only make sense for the evil one to attack the weakest link. Then to add insult to injury, Satan told a lie to Eve mixed with a little truth.

For God knows that in the day you eat of it your eyes will be opened, and you will be like God, knowing good and evil.” So when the woman saw that the tree was good for food, that it was pleasant to the eyes, and a tree desirable to make one wise, she took of its fruit and ate. She also gave to her husband with her, and he ate. Then the eyes of both of them were opened…

Genesis 3:5-7 NKJV

Eve was enticed first by what Satan had to say and secondly by the pleasing nature of the fruit. Now there are theories as to why Adam ate of the fruit. The best one to date that I have heard was that if he had not, then Eve would have been struck dead (or “smitten” as the KJV would have it.) That is, in my opinion, the best answer concerning this issue of Adam and Eve’s failure to obey God’s commandment. And after eating of the forbidden fruit, their eyes were opened (meaning they could discern right from wrong) and as it would follow on in the verse, “…and they knew that they were naked; and they sewed fig leaves together and made themselves coverings.” (Genesis 3:7 NKJV) Also, as it would happen a little further on in the chapter, “…hid themselves from the presence of the Lord God among the trees…” (Genesis 3:8 NKJV)

So, in my opinion, the first step in the ROMANS ROAD TO SALVATION takes us back to the beginning after all things were created and after they had been in the Garden of Eden for a while.

May God Richly Bless You, My Beloved!

Romans Road to Salvation Series Part 1

This is going to be something different from me. This will be a series explaining and defining the basis of the Romans Road to Salvation through Jesus Christ. In so researching and expanding on this subject matter, this series’ intent is to trace the various scriptural verses in the Book of Romans to as early in the Old Testament as possible; and if at all possible, hopefully to the Book of Genesis.

This will be a number of part in this series. The basic outline to this series will be, at least my plan is as follows:

  1. Introduction
  2. each individual step (~7)
  3. Perhaps 1-2 explanatory parts, if necessary
  4. And finally, the conclusion.

Now, each part may or may not be 1000 words long, that has always been my goal for each of my posts. However, for this series I will probably put that off to the side. Quite honestly, I believe I will be doing good attaining 500-800 words per post during this endeavor. But…anyhoo…let us see how this goes.

The scriptural verses from the Book of Romans by the Apostle Paul:

  • Romans 3:10
  • Romans 3:23
  • Romans 6:23
  • Romans 5:8
  • Romans 5:12
  • Romans 10:9
  • Romans 10:13
  • Romans 8:1
  • Romans 5:1-2

Now the ROMANS ROAD TO SALVATION is a good, methodical, logical, and easy method to lead someone to Christ as their Lord and Savior. Some people will listen to what you have to say and others will not. Some people will consider it their civic duty to waste your time in order to protect others from your, in their opinion, superstitious beliefs, old fashioned ideology, and your ancient black magic form of useless thoughts that have been proven wrong in their own minds. I have heard many things and have believed many things during the course of my life.

I will be using the below references, the Holy Bible, and more than likely a number of other references for research material. If I use anything else, I will try to add it to my reference list to keep it as updated as possible.

I honestly don’t know why I have endeavored to do this series, but after going through much of the Kent Hovind Creation Science Evangelism videos I thought to myself that even the road to salvation must have began at the time of Adam and Eve’s sinful disobedience of God’s command to:

Then the Lord God took the man and put him in the garden of Eden to tend and keep it. And the Lord God commanded the man, saying, “Of every tree of the garden you may freely eat; but of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil you shall not eat, for in the day that you eat of it you shall surely die.

Genesis 2:15-17 NKJV

I mean, from a logical, as well as pragmatic, position, God saw fit (despite how sinful man was), He would have given us a pathway out of our sinful past…that seems rather reasonable to me.

May God Richly Bless You, My Beloved!

On Being A “Crappy Christian”

Sorry for the crudeness of language, but this (I believe) gets your attention. We are all sinful, which means we are “Crappy Christians” no matter how hard we try. Because it is not by our own works, but by the grace of the One True and Living God.

We are reminded by the Apostle Paul of how hard he had it, just read the following:

For what I am doing, I do not understand. For what I will to do, that I do not practice; but what I hate, that I do. If, then, I do what I will not to do, I agree with the law that it is good. But now, it is no longer I who do it, but sin that dwells in me. For I know that in me (that is, in my flesh) nothing good dwells; for to will is present with me, but how to perform what is good I do not find. For the good that I will to do, I do not do; but the evil I will not to do, that I practice. Now if I do what I will not to do, it is no longer I who do it, but sin that dwells in me.

Romans 7:15-20 NKJV

We are all the same, in this respect, in that, we all do those things that we don’t want to do and don’t do that which we ought to do! It is a sad truth and factoid of life. We all want to be a better version of who we are. We desire that. We all seek to learn to do better things in our lives, treating others better than we do, treating family better than we have in the past. We often, as we get older, desire to treat our children better than we have while they were growing up. There are numerous proverbs throughout the Bible that would touch on such things. Such as treating our children justly, yet in ouryouful zeal tended to be more strict with our own children or we were easier than we should have been. Face it…we are screw ups! But we are godly screw-ups, who are saved by God’s grace and the love of Christ!

We are all obligated, when we become saved; when we claim Jesus as our Lord and Savior…we are obligated to do better, but it is not us that does better rather it is the Holy Spirit who works in us. That is the helper that Christ promised us, the comforter. The Holy Spirit lives in us and guides us to do what God desires of us. We were created by God, designed by Him, and we were created in His image. And even though we live in a broken world, we are still created in His image and designed to do His will throughout our lives. However, we have a choice in the matter. Just as Adam and Eve had about 6000 years ago. [Yeah, I am one of those…a young earth creationist.] And just as Jonah had and everyone else both before and after them.

We can change our ways. Sometimes we need help to change. Whether it be a friend, a professional, or just through prayer and a lot of hard work. We can change for the better and for the worse. Consider the following:

  • Joseph Stalin went to a seminary to become a priest.
  • Charles Darwin finished his seminary schooling.

Now don’t get me wrong, hell is not just for Stalin, Darwin, Hitler, Pol Pot, Mao Tse Tung, etc. Hell is for anyone who chooses to do evil and refrains from doing good in their lives; those who cast aside Jesus as their Lord and Savior. One day…

And as it is appointed unto men once to die, but after this the judgment

Hebrews 9:27 NKJV

So then every one of us shall give account of himself to God.

Romans 14:12 NKJV

We must remember that one day we each will meet our Maker and Creator, and there will be a reckoning, a judgment! And we will be disgusted withourselves. Everytime I take a moment to look back on my life and see the reprehensible acts I accomplished…I hang my head low. It sadens me what I do and the only thing that lightens my heavy load is the fact that I have Jesus, whom I have accepted as my Lord and my Savior. The thing that kills me is the fact that I keep on screwing up. But I rest on His promise:

All that the Father gives Me will come to Me, and the one who comes to Me I will by no means cast out. For I have come down from heaven, not to do My own will, but the will of Him who sent Me.

John 6:37-38 NKJV

I hope this helped you to understand that YOU are not alone in the fight against personal sinfulness. We each bear this problem out. And we will each, saved or unsaved, will meet our Maker and be faced with all we have done and said, the good and the bad, and will receive judgment. But there is a difference between the saved and the unsaved…A VERY BIG DIFFERENCE!

May God Richly Bless You, My Beloved!

The Church, A Cornucopia of Folly

Fundamental, Bible believing people do not have the right to indoctrinate their children in their religious beliefs because we, the state, are preparing them for the year 2000, when America will be part of a one-world global society and their children will not fit in.

Peter Hoagland, 2nd District for Nebraska U.S. House of Representatives

It is a bit ironic, if you will, that a former member of the House of Representatives (someone who was allegedly elected into an office to protect the rights of the people for whom he represents) would accuse parents of “indoctrinating” their children with their beliefs where, in fact, it is the party hell bent on fundamentally changing this country into a socialistic, if not a communistic, country. But that seems to be the norm now-a-days. The “preparation” that Peter Hoagland was talking about, as I look back on it, is the decimation of a people’s nationalistic belief, the destruction of her borders, the obliteration of the rights of the individuals, and the compliance of the little people to the authority of the elites. It is sad, but a truthful observation.

Parents are truly the first line of teaching their children, from the beginning of time until the end of time, itself! Even when I was growing up my parents did not hold political, religious, or “how was your day at school?” conversations. And there are many families around just like that! More than I would like to think or believe.

The church is suppose to be teaching it’s congregants the truth from the Biblical text. But sadly, no church is an actual church when looked at through the Biblical looking glass. I have spoken on this subject before and will hold dearly to my belief that 99.9% of the churches in America are incorporated. So, what does that mean? That means, by the state laws in which the church is registered and permitted, the church (the greater majority of them) exist as a state allowed entity. The state by and through the law created that church. That said, the church receives it’s rights from the state in which it was created. If a governmental agency gives you your rights; beware, for one day those rights will no longer be availed to that church entity.

Germany used the law to take absolute control over the churches within her jurisdiction. If the church went against the state (Germany in this instance) they would be shut down. There are stories of churches being shut down in this country because they violated ether the laws or overstepped their bounds within the Johnson Amendment (a limitation imposed upon “incorporated churches” within America.)

What could be done to overcome such things? Those who wish to create a church and believe it to be God’s will in their life, should create a church without incorporating it. The churches of America have made their church (of God) subservient to government. In so doing, has not government made itself a god? And is this present form of government the very type of government that our Founding Fathers warned us about? This would place your church entity squarely in line within the understanding of the Founding Fathers intentions, with respect to the First Amendment to the U.S. Constitution.

Here is a bit of the story behind the First Amendment to the U.S. Constitution, excerpted from THE CITIZEN’S RULE BOOK:

“Those people who are not governed by GOD will be ruled by tyrants.”

William Penn

Edward Bushell and three fellow JURORS learned this lesson well. They refused to bow to the court. They believed in the absolute power of the JURY, though their eight companions cowered to the court. The four JURORS spent nine weeks of torture in prison, often without food or water, soaked with urine, smeared with feces, barely able to stand, and even threatened with fines, yet they would not give in to the judge. Edward Bushell said, “My liberty is not for sale,” though he had great wealth and commanded an international shipping enterprise. These “bumble heads”, so the court thought, proved the power of the people was stronger than any power of government. They emerged total victors.

The year was 1670, and the case Bushell sat on was that of William Penn, who was on trial for violation of the “Conventicle Act.” This was an elaborate Act which made the Church of England the only legal church. The Act was struck down by their not guilty vote. Freedom of Religion was established and became part of the English Bill of Rights and later it became the First Amendment to the Constitution of the United States. In addition, the Right to peaceful assembly was founded.Freedom of Speech, and also habeas corpus. The first such writ of habeas corpus ever issued by the Court of Common Pleas was used to free Edward Bushell. Later this trial gave birth to the concept of Freedom of the press.

Had Bushell and his colleagues yielded to the guilty verdict sought by the judge and prosecutor. William Penn most likely would have been executed, as he clearly broke the law.

Then there would have been no Liberty Bell, no Independence Hall, no city of Philadelphia, and no state called Pennsylvania, for young William Penn, founder of Pennsylvania, and leader of the Quakers, was on trial for his life. His alleged crime was preaching and teaching a different view of the Bible than that of the Church of England. This appears innocent today, but then, one could be executed for such actions. He believed in freedom of religion, freedom of speech and the right to peaceful assembly. He had broken the government’s law, but he had injured no one. Those four heroic JURORS knew that only when actual injury to someone’s person or property takes place is there a real crime. No law is broken when no injury can be shown. Thus there can be no loss or termination of rights unless actual damage is proven. Many imposter laws were repealed as a result of this case.

This trial made such an impact that every colony but one established the jury as the first liberty to maintain all other liberties. It was felt that the liberties of people could never be wholly lost as long as the jury remained strong and independent, and that unjust laws and statutes could not stand when confronted by conscientious JURORS. JURORS today face an avalanche of imposter laws. JURORS not only still have the power and the RIGHT, but also the DUTY, to nullify bad laws by voting “not guilty”. At first glance it appears that it is almost unfair, the power JURORS have over government, but necessary when considering the historical track record of oppression that governments have wielded over private citizens.

We, as a people…as ONE People, must remember that we have God given and unalienable rights that only God can take from us…not some other man or a government! We are on the brink where “We The People” have forgotten some very important lessons! After all, everyone seems to be wiping out and re-writing our history to suit their own agendas and needs. Our Founding Fathers were not perfect men but they did have some great and grand ideas. The Constitution is but one of them. Look closely at the laws that our “law makers” (sarcasm is free, as I use that term very loosely!), many of those laws are, in fact, unconstitutional! I am no lawyer, but I can read and I can see the writing on the wall.

That I won’t stray too far from the original meaning and intent of this post, The First Amendment states:

Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the government for a redress of grievances.

Amendment I, The Bill of Rights

Regardless of party, something that George Washington warned us about in his Farewell Address, each one has in affect aided the other in destroying this country in my personal opinion. Each party has their own agenda and does what it can to push it further forward. And in some cases, does what it can to muffle the voices of the people.

God determined us to be born in this country and we each have an obligation to protect this country from the ignorance of those who were elected to their respective offices. Sadly, again, most of the politicians that were elected into their office…lied to get in that office. While the Bible implies that we are to follow & obey our government; that is not entirely truthful. Reading the scripture carefully, we are obligated to follow a legitimate and godly government. We are to stand against an ungodly and wicked government! If we are to just blindly follow our government…THEN America is an absolute farce. Why would I say that? Because We stood against our British overlords who with absolute contempt for the people taxed them to death, and we went to war with England over 1% tax on tea. Look at your paycheck of late and add all the taxes taken out. Then add all of the taxes in the form of a fee, the increase in prices and interest rates (aka, inflation a hidden tax), registering your vehicle, taxes on your property, etc. You will find that you are being taxed at about 65-70% of your paycheck.

Sorry to have gotten a bit wordy here, but this country is the greatest , in my opinion; unfortunately we are going down a slippery slope to our destruction. We are deserving of judgment of God, no question about that! But sharing the word can help us get out of the mess we are in. Getting in line with God’s will and word.

May God Richly Bless You, My Beloved!

I Look Forward to Meeting My Maker, Just Not Very Enthusiastic About My Chastisement😉

“And as it is appointed for men to die once, but after this the judgment, so Christ was offered once to bear the sins of many. To those who eagerly wait for Him He will appear a second time, apart from sin, for salvation.”

Hebrews 9:27-28 NKJV

We are also reminded by the Apostle Paul,

“So then each of us shall give account of himself to God.”

Romans 14:12 NKJV

In this respect I believe that despite our salvation, we will each be called before God to be judged for our acts against God, Himself! We must answer for every one of our thoughts, every one of out actions, every one of our sins. I believe in once saved, always saved; but I also believe that in order for the word to maintain it congruence and its integrity, all things must work together for God’s holy purpose! Since our salvation in the Lord is not a license to sin, and we are still sinful creatures regardless of being saved, then we must answer for all those sins that we have committed after that point which we were saved. Hence, the title!

I know my God and my Creator loves me. But I must be held accountable for all that I do. I am God’s property and His servant. No matter how hard I try to be good…I am never good enough! I have great possibilities to do great things. Unfortunately, I maintain the possibilities to accomplish great sins, as well.

I truly desire to meet my Lord and my Savior, my Creator and my Master…but I have no desire to be chastised, as any child with his parent.

No matter how much I read the Bible, no matter how much I learn from it, I still tend to sin against my Creator. But on day I will be cleansed of all this sinfulness. Many read the scriptures that they may gain eternal life, but that is not what you do with the scriptures.

“You search the Scriptures, for in them you think you have eternal life; and these are they which testify of Me.”

John 5:39 NKJV

Jesus reminded us in the above scripture that we are to read the scriptures that we will find Him, Jesus, the Christ and our Savior. From the Book of Genesis through the Book of Revelation, all books speak about Jesus, God and the Holy Spirit. They speak of judgment and salvation. Why?.. because we live in a broken world, a world broken by our ancestors (Adam and Eve.) If you are unfamiliar with the fall of man in this world, make certain you read Genesis 3 for a refresher! As most of us have learned from our childhood and upbringing, we learned to lie in order to stay out of trouble. It didn’t always work for us, but we continued to do it, none the less.

Sadly, I was in trouble much of my childhood. So, I would consider myself a “troublesome aficionado” if you will. Of course there were some who were far superior to me in getting in trouble, but I think you get the point…I do not look forward to facing my failures and the chastisement by God.

Looking back on it all, you wonder how in God’s name would God even permit someone like me in heaven? That is an excellent question, not certain I can answer it properly; but GRACE is the actual answer! We do not deserve it, but God, by way of Jesus Christ and His shedding of His blood on the Cross for me and everyone else. That was the substitutionary sacrifice for our sins. Jesus shed His blood on the Cross for all mankind who was prior to his sacrifice, at the time of His sacrifice, and all who were after His sacrifice. All mankind from all time, including all those to come before the end of the world as we know it. Remember this quote:

“For assuredly, I say to you, till heaven and earth pass away, one jot or one tittle will by no means pass from the law till all is fulfilled.”

Matthew 5:18 NKJV

This implies that the earth will pass away, one day; but not before all has been fulfilled.

We are all undeserving of entry into heaven, but we are accepted IF you accept Christ into your heart. The Holy Spirit will work on you and guide you throughout all the days of your life.

“But he who denies Me before men will be denied before the angels of God.”

Luke 12:9 NKJV

We have a lot of work to do before the end comes, so let us get to it!

May God Richly Bless You, My Beloved!
