“And the Lord God said, “It is not good that man should be alone; I will make him a helper comparable to him.”” ~Genesis 2:18
God intended to create a helper for man as a companion and who was comparable to him, very similar to the animals which He had created and He told them, “Be fruitful and multiply, and fill the waters in the seas, and let birds multiply on the earth.” (Genesis 1:22) Hence, the animals were made with helpers which were comparable to the male of the species. Thus, the creation of Eve, the female of the species of man only made sense in order to 1. create a helper for man, 2. create a comparable companion for man, and 3. to create a mate for man in order to procreate and increase the species of man. This which was done so that man could and would:
“Therefore a man shall leave his father and mother and be joined to his wife, and they shall become one flesh.” ~Genesis 2:24
That which God has joined, let man not separate! (Matt 19:6; Mark 10:9) The intent was that God desired man to procreate and increase the species; just as with the animals of the land, birds of the air, and the fish of the water. Procreation cannot be accomplished by same sex couples. This is not hate speech, nor is it fundamentalist theology, it is scientific fact! Man cannot bring forth life with another man, nor can a woman do so with another woman.
Now we must keep in mind there are, in-fact, two forms of marriage: One by law and the other by God. The one based in law and statute is applicable to all people and, in my opinion, anyone can marry any other person they choose; based upon our laws, statutes, and both state & federal constitutions. The marriage in the sight of God is a marriage is based upon the tenets of a moral law-giver. These moral laws are spelled out within the confines of the biblical text.
The unfortunate and true fact is, that churches are, in this respect, extensions and agents of the state, when they perform a marriage; regardless of how they see themselves and in what capacity they consider themselves. Each and every church, very few that are not, is a corporation which by definition is a fiction of the state within which they reside. The pastor/minister fills out the Marriage License as a representative of the church. The only reason a Marriage License is needed, in my opinion, is for government benefits when your spouse does die. I often think we, as Christians, should go back to the Common Law Marriages of old, instead of the state sponsored marriages. You can do them, and they are lawful, but most are concerned of the benefits.
You cannot classify my belief as hate speech if YOU take the opposite position and infer YOUR position to be free from hate! You have your belief and I have mine, each of which is protected under the First Amendment to the US Constitution and various state constitutions. However, all too often our Constitutionally protected rights are being abrogated by laws – which is not how you amen the constitution…but that is beyond the scope of this particular blog posting.
May God Richly Bless You All!
